This Policy sets the professional, ethical, and conduct standards all therapists must maintain while providing services through SeenKind. It exists to protect clients and preserve the integrity of the Platform.

Purpose

The purpose of this Professional Standards Policy is to establish the professional, ethical, and conduct expectations for therapists providing services through SeenKind.

SeenKind is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, trustworthy, and professional environment for clients seeking mental health and wellness support.

All therapists using SeenKind must comply with this Policy.

This Policy should be read together with:

Professional Responsibility

Therapists are solely responsible for:

  • The services they provide.
  • Their professional judgment.
  • Advice and recommendations given to clients.
  • Maintaining professional competence.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

SeenKind does not supervise clinical decisions and does not direct how therapists provide services.

Accuracy of Information

Therapists must ensure that all information submitted to SeenKind is accurate, complete, and truthful. This includes:

  • Identity information
  • Educational qualifications
  • Certifications
  • Experience
  • Professional achievements
  • Areas of expertise
  • Session pricing
  • Availability

Providing false, misleading, incomplete, altered, or fraudulent information may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal from the Platform.

Professional Competence

Therapists must only provide services within areas where they possess appropriate knowledge, training, education, experience, or expertise.

Therapists should:

  • Maintain professional competence.
  • Seek ongoing education where appropriate.
  • Recognize professional limitations.
  • Refer clients when necessary.

Therapists must not misrepresent their abilities, experience, or qualifications.

Client Welfare

The welfare and dignity of clients must remain a primary consideration. Therapists should:

  • Act in the client's best interests.
  • Provide respectful care.
  • Avoid exploitation.
  • Avoid harmful conduct.
  • Maintain appropriate professional relationships.

Therapists must not knowingly engage in conduct that places clients at unreasonable risk.

Respect and Non-Discrimination

Therapists must treat clients fairly and respectfully. Discrimination based on characteristics protected by applicable law is prohibited.

Therapists must not engage in:

  • Harassment
  • Bullying
  • Intimidation
  • Hate speech
  • Abuse
  • Humiliation

Respectful communication is required at all times.

Confidentiality

Therapists are responsible for protecting confidential information obtained through the Platform. Confidential information should only be disclosed:

  • With client authorization;
  • When legally required; or
  • When necessary to address a serious and immediate risk of harm in accordance with applicable law and professional obligations.

Therapists must take reasonable measures to safeguard client information.

Professional Boundaries

Therapists must maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients. Therapists must not:

  • Exploit clients financially.
  • Manipulate clients.
  • Harass clients.
  • Engage in inappropriate relationships with clients.
  • Use their professional position for personal gain.

Professional boundaries should be maintained during and after the therapeutic relationship.

Advertising and Representations

Therapists must ensure that all representations made on SeenKind are truthful and accurate. Therapists must not:

  • Make false claims.
  • Guarantee treatment outcomes.
  • Misrepresent qualifications.
  • Mislead clients regarding services.

Statements regarding expertise, education, experience, or results must be accurate and supportable.

Professional Communication

Therapists must communicate professionally. Therapists should:

  • Respond respectfully.
  • Use appropriate language.
  • Avoid threats or intimidation.
  • Avoid abusive conduct.

Professional communication standards apply to:

  • Messaging
  • Video sessions
  • Audio sessions
  • Reviews
  • Public profile content
  • Support interactions

Availability and Reliability

Therapists are expected to:

  • Maintain accurate availability.
  • Attend scheduled sessions.
  • Provide reasonable notice of cancellations where possible.
  • Manage their schedules responsibly.

Repeated missed sessions, excessive cancellations, or persistent unreliability may result in corrective action.

Services to Minors

Therapists are responsible for complying with all laws applicable to services provided to minors.

Where parental or legal guardian consent is required under applicable law, therapists are responsible for ensuring that such consent has been obtained before providing services.

SeenKind does not independently determine whether consent is required in a particular jurisdiction.

Crisis Situations

SeenKind is not an emergency service.

Therapists are responsible for managing crisis situations in accordance with applicable laws, professional obligations, and ethical requirements.

Therapists should take appropriate action when they become aware of a serious and immediate risk of harm, consistent with their legal and professional responsibilities.

Documentation

Therapists are responsible for maintaining any professional records required by applicable law or professional standards.

SeenKind does not maintain clinical records on behalf of therapists unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Therapists remain responsible for their own professional documentation obligations.

Conflicts of Interest

Therapists should avoid conflicts of interest that may impair professional judgment or compromise client welfare.

Where a conflict exists, therapists should take appropriate steps to manage or avoid it.

Prohibited Conduct

Therapists must not:

  • Submit fraudulent information.
  • Impersonate another individual.
  • Misrepresent qualifications.
  • Exploit clients.
  • Engage in harassment.
  • Engage in unlawful activity.
  • Circumvent Platform policies.
  • Encourage off-platform payments to avoid fees.
  • Violate client confidentiality.
  • Manipulate reviews or ratings.

Cooperation with Reviews and Investigations

Therapists agree to cooperate with legitimate SeenKind reviews, audits, verification requests, and investigations. SeenKind may request additional information where necessary to:

  • Verify information
  • Investigate complaints
  • Protect clients
  • Maintain Platform integrity

Failure to cooperate may result in restrictions or suspension.

Corrective Action

If SeenKind determines that a therapist has violated this Policy, SeenKind may take one or more actions, including:

  • Warning
  • Content removal
  • Profile restrictions
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent removal
  • Verification review
  • Reporting to relevant authorities where required by law

The appropriate action will depend on the severity and circumstances of the violation.

No Guarantee of Approval

Compliance with this Policy does not guarantee approval, continued participation, or continued visibility on the Platform.

SeenKind reserves the right to approve, reject, suspend, or remove therapists at its discretion, subject to applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

SeenKind may update this Professional Standards Policy from time to time.

Updated versions will be published on the Platform with a revised version number and effective date.

Continued use of SeenKind after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
