This Agreement explains how online therapy sessions work through SeenKind — including the benefits, limitations, technology risks, and your rights and responsibilities as a client or therapist.

SeenKind is not an emergency service. In a crisis or emergency, call your local emergency services immediately. See Section 11.
Introduction
This Teletherapy Consent & Client Agreement (“Agreement”) explains the nature of online therapy services provided through the SeenKind Platform.
By booking or participating in a video, audio, or messaging session through SeenKind, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Agreement.
This Agreement should be read together with the:
About SeenKind
SeenKind is an online technology marketplace that connects clients with independent therapists. SeenKind provides technology for:
- Therapist discovery
- Secure messaging
- Appointment scheduling
- Video sessions
- Audio sessions
- Payment processing
SeenKind does not provide therapy, medical care, psychiatric treatment, diagnosis, or healthcare services.
All therapeutic services are provided solely by independent therapists.
Nature of Teletherapy
Teletherapy involves the delivery of therapy or wellness services using communication technology instead of meeting in person.
Depending on the therapist and available Platform features, sessions may be conducted using:
- Secure video
- Secure audio
- Secure messaging
Understanding the Benefits
Potential benefits of teletherapy may include:
- Convenient access to therapists.
- Reduced travel time.
- Greater scheduling flexibility.
- Increased accessibility for users in different locations.
- Continuity of care when appropriate.
Results vary from person to person, and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.
Understanding the Limitations
By using teletherapy, you understand that:
- Online communication may not always be suitable for every situation.
- Technology failures may interrupt sessions.
- Internet connectivity may affect communication quality.
- Certain assessments or interventions may not be appropriate remotely.
- Therapists may determine that teletherapy is not appropriate for your circumstances.
Technology Risks
You acknowledge that online communication carries inherent risks, including:
- Internet interruptions.
- Device failures.
- Software errors.
- Audio or video quality issues.
- Delays in communication.
- Temporary service interruptions.
SeenKind takes reasonable measures to protect the Platform but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Confidentiality
Therapists are responsible for maintaining confidentiality in accordance with applicable laws and professional obligations.
SeenKind uses reasonable security measures to protect Platform communications; however, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
Clients are encouraged to:
- Participate from a private location whenever possible.
- Protect their own devices.
- Keep login credentials confidential.
- Avoid using unsecured public networks where practical.
Recording Sessions
Sessions conducted through SeenKind should not be recorded by clients or therapists without the informed consent of all participants and where permitted by applicable law.
Unauthorized recording, distribution, or publication of session content may result in account suspension or termination and may violate applicable law.
Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
- Provide accurate information.
- Attend sessions on time.
- Participate respectfully.
- Maintain appropriate communication.
- Follow Platform policies.
- Inform their therapist if they experience significant technical difficulties during a session.
Clients remain responsible for decisions made based on therapy received.
Therapist Independence
Therapists using SeenKind are independent professionals. Each therapist independently determines:
- Whether to accept a client.
- The therapeutic approach used.
- Session content.
- Clinical recommendations.
- Referrals where appropriate.
SeenKind does not supervise or direct therapists' clinical decisions.
Emergencies
EmergencySeenKind is not an emergency service.
Teletherapy is not intended to replace emergency medical or crisis services.
If you believe you are experiencing any of the following, contact your local emergency services or appropriate crisis resources immediately:
- A medical emergency
- A mental health crisis
- Suicidal thoughts with immediate risk
- Thoughts of harming another person
- Any situation requiring urgent intervention
Therapists remain responsible for fulfilling any legal or professional obligations relating to emergency situations.
Services for Minors
Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of the Platform complies with the laws applicable in their jurisdiction.
Where parental or legal guardian consent is required for a minor to receive services, the therapist and the user are responsible for ensuring that such consent has been obtained before services are provided.
SeenKind does not independently determine whether consent is required in a particular jurisdiction.
Privacy of the Session Environment
Clients are responsible for choosing an appropriate environment for sessions. Whenever reasonably possible, clients should:
- Use a private location.
- Minimize interruptions.
- Use headphones where appropriate.
- Ensure they feel comfortable discussing personal matters.
Therapists may pause or reschedule a session if confidentiality cannot reasonably be maintained.
Payments and Cancellations
Bookings, payments, cancellations, and refunds are governed by the SeenKind Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Clients should review that Policy before scheduling appointments.
No Guarantee of Outcomes
Every individual responds differently to therapy.
SeenKind and therapists do not guarantee:
- Clinical improvement.
- Resolution of specific concerns.
- Particular treatment outcomes.
- Achievement of personal goals.
Therapeutic progress depends on many factors beyond the control of SeenKind.
Consent to Receive Teletherapy
By participating in sessions through SeenKind, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You understand the nature of teletherapy.
- You understand the potential benefits and limitations.
- You understand the technology-related risks.
- You understand that therapists are independent professionals.
- You have had the opportunity to review this Agreement.
- You voluntarily choose to receive services through the Platform.
Changes to This Agreement
SeenKind may update this Agreement from time to time.
The latest version will be published on the Platform with a revised version number and effective date.
Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement.
